Cut 1 of the oranges in half, and then into slices for a garnish. Cut and peel 1 of the oranges and then chop it into pieces. Transfer the chopped oranges with any juices into a bowl that you can mash them in. Stir in the gin, sugar, and bitters, and then strain it into a measuring cup, making sure to release all of the available liquids. Chill this for 4 hours.
After 4 hours have passed, then pour 2 tablespoons of the gin mixture into 6 different glasses. Fill the remaining space in each glass with champagne, and then garnish with your orange slices.

- 1 cup gin
